At Victor’s Lists, we believe in amplifying the voices of parents, caregivers, and advocates who are working every day to raise the bar for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to The Boost — a platform created by editor, writer, and advocate Roberta Bernstein.
Roberta has an incredible background, with work appearing in The New York Times, USA Today, Yahoo News, and more. But what makes her voice especially powerful is her personal journey: she is a longtime advocate for a family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Like so many of us, she has turned her lived experience into action.
What is The Boost?
A space to share important disability-related news stories (curated from a variety of sources).
A bulletin board for events, seminars, and resources focused on families in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley.
A growing hub that aims to address the very real challenges families face and to provide support, guidance, and practical tips.
Roberta’s mission is simple yet powerful: to inform, connect, and empower families navigating the disability landscape.
She also wants to hear from you. The Boost is designed to be interactive — a place where your stories, suggestions, and questions can help shape the conversation.
We encourage you to check out The Boost and explore this valuable resource.
Together, platforms like Victor’s Lists and The Boost are part of a larger movement — to transform scattered families and fragmented information into one united community. Organizing information helps make some things easier in a life where almost nothing is. And when we unite on this larger scale, we not only compel existing systems to pay attention, but also gain the power to create the systems our families truly need.
